Quieter and focused writing, stickies get a little love, and signing in on your own domain behaves better.

• 💅 Calmer writing — Draft sits beside Save now, autosave is quieter (preview shows up once you’ve got something saved), Saving/Saved is back on the publish button in a quiet way — just a visual clue as it's autosaving, categories are easier to pick or create, and draft sharing lives in a small tray next to Download instead of being buried and hard to figure out. Page options are simpler too. Just trying to get the writing screen out of the way and make things more about writing and less about managing and options.
• ✨ Simpler shortcodes — use the slash menu for embeds when writing /, or paste a YouTube / Vimeo / Spotify / Apple Music / Apple Podcasts link and it turns into the shortcode automatically. Easy. That means a button is gone, and things are more automatic than adding clutter to the UI. I don't like clutter — and I try my best to reduce it.
• 💅 Sticky notes polish — tighter dock beside Help (better on mobile too), new notes get a random colour with a little spawn animation, playful placeholders, and Ctrl+Shift+S to show or hide them. Account settings has a tiny playground if you want to try them without committing. More work for me to do around stickies, although it's feeling good now and more refined. By default these are off, and it's nice to see them in a demo that works. I like my stickies.
• 💅 Settings search — blog settings hub search can find individual settings now, with a bit of fuzzy matching. Type what you’re looking for on your blog settings screen. Still more to do around settings, but getting there. Just think Omakase お任せ — great defaults, easy to tweak if you want to change something.
• 💅 Logging in on custom domains — signing in from your own domain is now easier with a "Sign in with Scribbles" — which takes you to Scribbles for signing in (which you probably are already) and then takes you straight back to your website. This was feeling broken and cumbersome. Hope that makes life easier.
• 💅 Hidden API keys — keys on the account settings screen are masked by default, with a show toggle when you need them. Just you know... when you don't want people to see it — although I suspect this doesn't matter when you're at home.
• 🧼 Explore throttling — The explore feed used to be a firehose, which works great, however to make sure not one blog can take this over, I have added a way to throttle the feed over a 24 hour period. Most are not affected by this. It's automatic and looks across all posts from a user for the day.
