Updates

Today I decided to remove the ability to create new accounts on Scribbles. The reality is, is that it gets a lot of spam sign ups — and that just totally isn't great for me. It's mostly from gmail addresses. Blocking gmail would be easy enough, but it won't solve the problem.

At this time, Scribbles has its own legs — it pays for its own server and hosting bills, with just under 400 total blogs (that are not just the default "My new blog").

In the past I mentioned capping the amount of users on the platform and just concentrate on those few that use it.

Over the past month I made it invite only, and asked for people to email me. 1 out 20 of those always are genuine! However, it's a lot for me to manage right now, and nothing I want to deal with. It's wasting my time, and I don't want to give time to people that want to get a "free" blog just for spam — unfortunate that some of those that did email turned out to be spammers. Shame we can't just genuinely use a great blogging platform.

That being said, I'll concentrate on the users I have — which I am very thankful for. ✌️❤️

Scribbles will continue to be built and improved... and as you can see I am shipping a lot. It's not going anywhere.

I am figuring out how to re-open registration at some stage, perhaps I'll allow it for users that have subscribed for at least 1 year (or have a lifetime account) where they can create invite codes. That might be better. Who knows.
