Invite only

Today I made Scribbles invite only, so when you register I ask that you please email me and then I'll go ahead and invite you.

The funny thing is, is that this is how it all started with Scribbles and I had incredible success and talked to many people to get them onboarded.

There are several reasons for going back to invite only — number one really is that I am getting a lot of spam/fake sign ups. I have ways to fix this, but I just don't have the time to implement anything here right now. Down the line I will implement this, and I want to do it properly.

Secondly, this is a hobby project of mine. I really thought it would be a full time project as I wanted to move away from "social" posting and just concentrate on an easy way to blog for my projects. I was certainly surprised myself when it launched with an invite only system and things just got crazy.

But the reality is, is that I just want a cozy experience and support my existing bloggers here — focus on making things just a little better, step by step.

There are some other personal factors at play also that contributed to my decision at the moment.

Scribbles is not going anywhere, it'll run till the end of me — so let's say another 40 years. Maybe 39... or, as they say, until the end of the internet (as I will know it).
