Pancakes
It’s pancake day which means that instead of some usual healthy fayre for dinner we instead got to eat stacks of pancakes with various unhealthy toppings.
I’m a big fan of American pancakes over British pancakes as the latter are quite thin and subject to tearing in the pan. I much prefer thick fluffy pancakes and there is something aesthetically (and gastronomically) pleasing having a tall stack on the plate. As for toppings, I also look to North America as one of my favourites has got to be the salt/savoury dream team of bacon and maple syrup.
However, cherry pie filling still holds a special place in my heart as it’s what I always had on pancakes growing up at home.
