ネットフリックスのウェンズデーシーズン2の配信が始まった。後半部分を見始めたばかりだが期待していた以上だった。陳腐になりそうな設定だけどそうはなっていない。ウェンズデーの見た目が決め手だろう。魅力的な見た目と雰囲気を持っている。友達のイーニッドはウェンズデーと正反対の派手な見た目とおおらかな性格になっている。まずこの二人がルームシェアしている設定にしたのは天才的だ。敵視する関係ではなく無二の親友。シーズン2では友達の死を回避するためにウェンズデーが奔走する。常に冷徹で一見利己的に見えるウェンズデーだが友達を守ることに躊躇はない。本当に素晴らしいシリーズだ。シーズン2では演じている二人の知名度が高くなったことで、最初のシーズンよりも二人で絡む場面が増えている。特にイーニッド役のエマ・マイヤーズが有名になったことで、ウェンデーに対する脇役のような立ち位置から脱却しつつあるようにすら見える。

Netflix has started streaming Wednesday Season 2. I’ve just begun watching the latter half, and it’s exceeded my expectations. The premise could easily have become cliché, but it hasn’t. Wednesday’s appearance is probably the key. She has an attractive look and atmosphere. Her friend Enid is the complete opposite, with a flashy appearance and an easygoing personality. Setting these two as roommates was a stroke of genius. They’re not rivals, but inseparable best friends. In Season 2, Wednesday does everything she can to prevent her friend’s death. Although she always appears cold and seemingly selfish, she never hesitates to protect her friends. It’s truly an excellent series. In Season 2, the two actresses have become more well-known, so there are more scenes of them together than in the first season. Especially with Emma Myers, who plays Enid, becoming famous, it even feels like she’s moving beyond just being a supporting character to Wednesday.
