Markdown import, callouts, and Analytics widgets
ChangelogYou can bring your Markdown notes over, add callouts to your posts, and show a hit counter and countries in your footer — with a little celebration when someone gives kudos.
✨ Markdown import: if your writing lives in Markdown files rather than WordPress, you can now import it too. Go to Settings → Export & import → Import and choose Markdown next to WordPress. Upload a single .md or .markdown file, or a .zip of notes exported from Bear or Mataroa. If your files have YAML front matter, Scribbles uses it for the title, date, slug, draft, category and page. If they don't, a leading # Heading becomes the title, the way Bear does it. You'll get the same status updates and email as with a WordPress import.
✨ Callouts: start a quote with [!NOTE], [!TIP], [!IMPORTANT], [!WARNING] or [!CAUTION] and it becomes a styled callout, just like on GitHub. It's a handy way to make an aside or a warning stand out. If you use a custom theme, you can style them with the blockquote.callout classes. See Callouts under Platform features in the custom themes docs.
✨ Kudos effects: when someone taps the kudos button under a post, it can play a short celebration. Go to Settings → Analytics, choose a Kudos effect, and hit Try it to preview. Fun has confetti, emoji rain, floating hearts and fireworks; Retro has coin pop, 1UP, pixel sparkles and a CRT flash; Calm has a soft ripple, petal bloom and gentle sparkle. Turn on Play a sound if you want a quiet click effect with it.
✨ Hit counter: show your blog's lifetime views in the footer. On the same Analytics page, pick Hit counter — Off, Plain, Split-flap, Odometer, Web or LCD — and Try it to preview. Built-in themes place it for you. On a custom theme, add wherever it belongs.
✨ Countries: show every country your blog has been read in. Under Countries on Analytics, pick Flags, Map or Passport (or Off), and Try it. Built-in themes put it in the footer; custom themes use

.
