Changelog July 25th — August 1st
ChangelogJust a few minor things that I wanted to address since the more busy changes the other week — Explore settles a bit, custom themes catch up with the built-in ones, and categories get a proper tidy.
July 24, 2026
- 💅 Richer Explore gallery — the image gallery can pull from deeper discover posts, so you’ve got more photos to browse when the top of the feed is quiet. More photos please. :)
- 🚀 Snappier Explore — mid-feed featured blogs and image strips load as you scroll, instead of holding up the whole page. Loads of things were happening, so the quicker Explore opens, the better.
July 27, 2026
- 💅 Bulk actions, now much calmer — selecting posts for bulk edits feels more like a craft tool and less like a spreadsheet toolbar. Same power, less noise. Just keeping up with the changes I've made.
July 30, 2026
- ✨ Reply by email on custom themes — if you’ve got reply-by-email on, custom themes can show it in the post footer like the built-in themes. See the custom themes docs. No idea how I forgot about this.
- ✨ Send a Scribble on custom themes — the “Send a Scribble” bit shows up on custom theme posts too, so readers can reply in-app when you’ve enabled it. Works a treat!
July 31, 2026
- 💅 Custom theme preview links — dark mode contrast on the custom themes list is readable again.
August 1, 2026
- ✨ Categories, grid or list — pick the layout that fits how you browse. It remembers your choice. New category and the layout toggle sit up in the title header with the other craft tools, same idea as Published. Creating a category got quieter too — the other one felt great for a v1, but I think I am past that now.
- ✨ Filter empty categories — All / With posts / Empty. Those greyed-out empties can get out of the way when you just want the ones you’re actually using.
- ✨ Editable category slugs — on the category edit screen you can change the URL slug (
/categories/your-slug). Handy when the auto name isn’t what you want. Changing it does break old links — no redirects for categories yet. - 💅 Category descriptions (default_v2) — wide titles were shoving the intro off-center; the description sits under the title properly again.
Hope these make categories feel a little less like admin and a little more like something you use. More screens to tidy up as I go of course, so if there is anything... you know where to find me.
And a nice welcome to everyone new. 👋❤️
