Changelog August 3rd — August 4th

A quieter stretch of polish — lightbox images behave better, captions show up where they should, and image uploads on your own domain work again when you’re signed in.

August 3, 2026

• ✨ Center list dates — under Display you can show homepage and archive dates as plain centered text, like on the post itself, instead of the pill buttons. Nice when the pills feel like too much chrome.
• 💅 Smarter lightbox images — zoom picks a size that fits your screen (up to 3000px), shows the page image first so it feels instant, then swaps in the sharper one. Uses the stripped versions too, so you’re not hauling the raw original every time.
• ✨ Captions as titles — untitled photo posts use the attachment caption when you’ve got one, instead of the dated placeholder. Feels more human on feeds and lists.
• 💅 Captions on Explore — image-only posts show the caption under the photo on Explore, so there’s a little context without needing a title.
• 💅 Calmer new-blog empty state — the analytics prompt sits below the welcome card now, and Domain joined the setup links. Less stacked onboarding, easier to find your custom domain.
• 🐛 Embed paste respects selection — pasting a YouTube / Vimeo / Spotify / etc URL over selected text (or onto a link) no longer turns the whole thing into a shortcode. Only bare pastes into the editor get the auto-embed treatment. That was a bit rude before.

• 🐛 Image uploads on custom domains — if you were signed in on your own domain and images refused to upload, that should work again. Browser and storage weren’t playing nicely together for a bit.

Smaller stretch. Still shipping (and yes, I’m sitting in the sun, doing not much).
