Personal Site Spotlight: Once Upon a Time in a Western 🔦
I love Westerns. It's one of my favorite genres and I'm so glad that it's having a bit of a resurgence as of late. But over the years, Westerns have not stopped being produced. They have just stopped being released in theaters, and sometimes even made with quality.
I'd walk around Walmart or see a random Western streaming, and think to myself, "This is probably a terrible watch, but I wonder if there is anything redeemable about the film." Sometimes I'd do a quick search, but most of the time I was left to Amazon reviews which are nowhere near accurate most of the time. Then I ran across Once Upon a Time in a Western, and I found the man to give me that answer.
Mark, who runs Once Upon a Time in a Western, is a true Western connoisseur. He reviews Westerns from the silent era to current and leaves no stone unturned. You like Weird Westerns? He covers it. Horror Westerns? He's on it. Micro-budget Westerns with people who've never acted? Yup, he watches it. It's an amazing source of Western movies and I look forward to each and every post.
It also helps that Mark has a great template he uses for reviewing. First, he covers the plot, then his review, he provides a list of cast, and memorable lines. All while providing some timely photos of actors with great descriptions underneath. Each post is a labor of love and I'm so thankful he puts the time in on some of these terrible movies, so I don't have to.
If you love Westerns or movie reviews, give Once Upon a Time in a Western a shot. It's a wonderful site.
