Week Notes 006

I skipped (missed?) last week’s Week Notes, but I’m forcing myself to do it this week so that I can use this as my Day 24 WeblogPoMo2024 post. Is this technically cheating? I didn’t impose any rules for myself when starting this challenge, so I’m making a personal executive decision that No, this is not cheating.

Overall, this was a rough week and just trying to keep my head above the water. I’m navigating through one bad news after another at the moment. Shoutout to my other half, LC, for allowing me to be sad and process my grief on my own terms, and in my own way.

As always, just hoping for a better week next week.

📚 Reading

Finished book 16 of 24: The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel. In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have read this book when I was already feeling sad but it was really hard to put down. Personal rating: 5/5 stars
Continuing with The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden — this is my in between book that I pick up every time I’m in between Libby books (aka waiting for my next book to become available)
I’m struggling reading/listening to Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu. This is our AAPI Book Club choice for work, and I’ve kind of stopped going to the meetings because I can’t get into the book. Very close to just adding this to my Did Not Finish bookshelf.
Paused this past week on One in a Millennial by Kate Kennedy but hoping to pick it up again.

📺 Watching

Killing Eve, season 4 — did they change directors or producers? The feel of this season is a bit different than past seasons.
Madame web (2024) on Netflix - it had potential but the acting was terrible (2.5/5)
The 100, season 7 — I paused watching this for some time but picking it back up again.

🎧 Listening

I currently have Billie Eilish’s new album: Hit Me Hard and Soft on repeat. It’s been on repeat since it came out on the 17th, and I’m still trying to find that one song that resonates with me. Still TBD.
