Week Notes 006
weekNotesšļø // 051824-052424
I skipped (missed?) last weekās Week Notes, but Iām forcing myself to do it this week so that I can use this as my Day 24 WeblogPoMo2024 post. Is this technically cheating? I didnāt impose any rules for myself when starting this challenge, so Iām making a personal executive decision that No, this is not cheating.
Overall, this was a rough week and just trying to keep my head above the water. Iām navigating through one bad news after another at the moment. Shoutout to my other half, LC, for allowing me to be sad and process my grief on my own terms, and in my own way.Ā
As always, just hoping for a better week next week.
š ReadingĀ
- Finished book 16 of 24: The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel. In hindsight, I probably shouldnāt have read this book when I was already feeling sad but it was really hard to put down. Personal rating: 5/5 stars
- Continuing with The Housemaidās Secret by Freida McFadden ā this is my in between book that I pick up every time Iām in between Libby books (aka waiting for my next book to become available)
- Iām struggling reading/listening to Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu. This is our AAPI Book Club choice for work, and Iāve kind of stopped going to the meetings because I canāt get into the book. Very close to just adding this to my Did Not Finish bookshelf.
- Paused this past week on One in a Millennial by Kate Kennedy but hoping to pick it up again.
šŗ Watching
- Killing Eve, season 4 ā did they change directors or producers? The feel of this season is a bit different than past seasons.
- Madame web (2024) on Netflix - it had potential but the acting was terrible (2.5/5)
- The 100, season 7 ā I paused watching this for some time but picking it back up again.
š§ Listening
I currently have Billie Eilishās new album: Hit Me Hard and
Soft on repeat. Itās been on repeat since it came out on the
17th, and Iām still trying to find that one song that resonates with me.
Still TBD.
